INSPIRATION FOR LANDSCAPE EXP2

 http://worldtours2u.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/canada2.jpg

The Canadian Landscape has been an inspiration of mine for the past year or so, ever since
a family member travelled there and showed me photographs of the stunning landscape.
It got me thinking about my monuments and the idea of a floating monument, which would
add to the tranquillity of the environment. What I enjoy about the Canadian landscape is that
it has a variety of terrain, from the mountains to the blue rivers. Therefore I feel like I can tap
into a flat terrain, as well as one that is more mountainous in one image. I hope to think
further with my monument designs so that they can suit the concept of floating on water,
as well as being wedged into the side of mountain faces. This will be an interesting challenge.

EXP2 "THE SPACE BETWEEN" INSPIRATIONAL MONUMENTS

  YUGOSLAVIAN MONUMENTS

The monuments in Yugoslavia for the Second World War are inspiring to me because of the juxtaposition between the landscape and the built object. I find them amazing because of the character and ambience they create, without the use of extensive colour or elaborate detailing. I also enjoy the stone material that has been used to sculpt these monuments and i am inspired to explore steel in my own monument designs.
