A. The two pictures of my most creative work represent the design and the realisation of a project i completed in Year 12. The upper photograph shows one picture of the plans i made to re design a homeless shelter for youths in Redfern. The bottom picture shows my plans becoming reality at the home. The pictures are interesting because they show the correlation between a designers thought process and the realistic outcome. From the photos it is obvious that some of the designs and thoughts i had did not occur due to budgeting and what looked better in person in the room.
B. This great piece of architecture built in Russia from 1555-1561 is fascinating to me because of the use of colours and the structure of the building. The church, which is now a museum, was built to represent a flame rising into the sky. The use of line and illusion of the different sized buildings is interesting because it shows me that architecture can be manipulated to create an artform- not just be a roof over our heads. The curve of the hats on top of the building add the detail of the "fire" representation as it makes our eyes follow the building around and up like a real flame would do. I am also fascinated with the era it was developed it and the fact that an originally Orthodox church has a "mosque-like"depiction which illustrates that architectural movements move with people and between countries. What also interests me about this architecture is the way that i can see a circus theme within it. The colours and thick lines remind
me of a theme park or a circus which is interesting to see within a church building.
C. This is an original photograph of mine from a previous project. What i find interesting about this particular photograph is its ambiguity. The photograph depicts a skull, yet the crochet behind it makes the skull delicate and almost alive. The way photography and placement of objects is interesting because it can change the way we view something. It is also interesting to me because it shows the beauty in death, through the shapes and lines evident within our skulls - or in this instance a sheep's skull. I love the surprise of finding detail within something that we might find disgusting or ugly.
